Public Information Statement Re: Missing Child – Hailey Wilsie
12/10/2024
At 10:16 p.m. on 12/9/24, I was informed that a juvenile student, Hailey Wilsie, had left a basketball game in Lone Jack, MO without properly checking out with coaches or administration. I subsequently called the mother of the juvenile to verify that the child was missing. We each then called 911 to report a missing child and spoke with deputies of the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department. I was then transferred to speak with deputies at the Jackson County Sheriff’s Department. At 11:11 p.m., I reached out to administration at Lone Jack to provide information and request surveillance. Lone Jack administration responded at 4:20 a.m., and were able to provide surveillance footage, verifying that Hailey had left the campus on her own free will at 8:08 p.m. Upon interviews with students and further investigation from authorities, it is believed Hailey was picked up by a newer-model, blue, crossover style Nissan, sometime after 8:15 p.m., east of the Lone Jack HS campus, on 12/9/24. The investigation is ongoing and the Santa Fe S.D. is working with all appropriate agencies to ensure the child’s safety. Anyone who believes they have knowledge that would aid in the investigation is encouraged to call the Lone Jack Police Department at 816-697-2417 or the Lafayette County Sheriff’s Department at 660-259-2622. Thank you for your help and support in this matter.
Respectfully,
Derek Lark
Santa Fe R-X Superintendent
