Pictured are Santa Fe FFA Officers with a donation check from the National FFA Organization, Living to Serve Grant Foundation, in the amount of $3,000.00. This grant was written by FFA Advisor Martha Schreiman and will provide funding for the school district's Backsnack program that benefits both elementary and high school students with food items in their back packs each Friday.
INSTRUMENT RENTAL & PTO - On Wednesday, August 28, 5:30-6:30 pm, a representative from Meyer Music will be at the Elementary Gym for Instrument Rental Night for 5th & 6th grade students and their parents. PTO will begin their meeting in the library at 5:45 pm for ALL parents. 5th/6th grade parents, feel free to stop in after you have finished your time with Meyer Music.

Pictured is JoHanna Breshears feeding her chickens strawberries. This is a way to use food that her family was no longer going to eat. By doing this it cuts down on feed costs for her Poultry Production SAE within the FFA. JoHanna collects and sells her chickens' eggs for a profit. She cleans the coop and puts her chickens in each night to protect them from predators. JoHanna is a two year FFA member and the daughter of Robert and Karlin Breshears of Blackburn.
Lady Chiefs kick off their season with the Jamboree at Carrollton on Wednesday this week!
Pictured is Mia Lark mopping the floor in the science room at the high school as part of her job as a summer custodial employee. Mia also empties rooms, dusts, paints, and vacuums along with any other job that she is told by her supervisor. This is Mia's Service Learning SAE within the FFA. Mia is a second year FFA member and is the daughter of Derek and Gentry Lark of Alma.
Due to projected heat to follow MSHSAA guidelines , High School Football practice is tomorrow 6:30 am to 7:45 am. Also 1 hour after school 3:30 to 4:30 pm (no pads or helmet).
JH FB will practice 6:30-7:45am tomorrow morning to avoid the heat.
5th/6th grade volleyball practice begins tomorrow! Remember to bring your practice clothes, kneepads, and your signed permission slip and physical, if you have not turned them in already.
Pictured is Victoria Morton mowing a yard this summer for her Turfgrass Management SAE within the FFA. Victoria has several yards that she mows and trims in Blackburn as her summer job. She also has a garden that she harvests and preserves food by canning. Victoria is a first year FFA member and the daughter of Jason and Kelly Morton of Blackburn.
Pictured is Chesney Warner checking the chlorine levels within the pool while working as a lifeguard at the Waverly Swim Club as part of her Outdoor Recreation SAE within the FFA. Chesney is in charge of making sure safety is enforced while being a guard at the pool and performs life saving efforts if needed. When opening and closing she is also in charge of cleaning the pool and bathrooms. Chesney is a second year FFA member and the daughter of Scott and Kristin Warner of Waverly.

Brady is a second year FFA member and the current Chaplain within the Santa Fe FFA Chapter. He is the son of Brian and Devin Graf of Blackburn.
