I hope your summer is going well! Below are a few activities that are happening this summer. Hopefully you can attend one, if not all. Here's the agenda for the rest of the summer.
** All incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend any of the summer FFA activities. If you have any questions please feel free to contact Mrs. Schreiman. Contact information is above.
4th of July Activities:
Santa Fe FFA is in charge of the Baby Contest and the Trapshoot at the annual Alma 4th of July Celebration. We will be calling members to help work shifts at both of these events! If you are available and would be willing to help, feel free to contact Mrs. Schreiman on her cell. Baby Contest will be Friday night starting at 6pm June 30th, and Trapshoot will be Saturday July 1st at 9 am.
Fairs:
FFA members can participate in the Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair, the District FFA Fair, and the Missouri State Fair. If you are interested in entering any projects (fruits or vegetables, flowers, field crops, woodworking or metal projects) please contact Mrs. Schreiman or just bring them at the times listed below. The link below can be used to access what projects are acceptable to bring. This is for all three fairs; District, County, and State. District FFA Fair, July 10 and 11, Johnson County Fairground @ Warrensburg:
There is no pre-registration for the District FFA Fair. I will take your projects to the District Fair on the 10th and after they are judged I will take them to the Lafayette County Fair. Projects that I can take would be fruits and vegetables from the garden, flowers that have been raised, and any shop projects that were built during the school year. Mrs. Schreiman will be at the Ag building from 4:00pm-6:00pm Sunday, July 9th to accept any projects that you are wanting to take to the fair. If you need an alternate date/time, please contact Mrs. Schreiman.

Lafayette County 4-H/FFA Fair, July 10-13th, Higginsville:
If you have a crop, horticulture (fruits & vegetables), mechanics or woodworking project(s) that you want to show, I will be at the Ag Dept. on Sunday evening, July 9 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm to accept projects. I will bring projects back to the ag building after the County Fair until the State Fair. If there are perishable items (vegetables, or fruits) they will be disposed of and flowers will be returned and need to be brought back for the State Fair.
Kickball Tournament: Sunday, July 16, 6:00 pm
We will be having a kickball tournament at the high school as a summer FFA activity. We will be grilling hamburgers and hotdogs. If you would like to bring a guest, you are welcome to! Please enter through the agriculture department doors. All incoming freshman are invited! For any questions you may have, please contact Mrs. Schreiman.
Missouri State Fair, August 10-20, Sedalia:
There is no pre-registration for projects for the State Fair. I will be taking projects to Sedalia on August 7th and 8th. I will be at the agriculture building August 6th from 4-6 pm to accept projects. You could also bring projects August 7th from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Summer Pool Party, Sunday, August 13:
This event will be at the Waverly City Pool at 6:00pm-8:00pm to welcome members back to a new year in the FFA. The chapter will provide dessert and drinks for the event. This is an event for the entire family!! No need to RSVP, just show up! No Cost!

****All incoming freshmen are encouraged to attend any of the summer activities. You are also eligible to bring any project that you have for any of the fairs on the July 9th date.
**** All activities attended over the summer will count towards the 2023-2024 point chart, make sure you attend to get started accumulating points for this year!
