Dear Families:
The Santa Fe R-X & Concordia R-II School Districts are proud to host Mike Domritz and The Center for Respect on Tuesday, September 26 at Santa Fe High School. Parents, guardians, and other caring community members are welcome to join us for this important presentation.
For more than a decade, The Center for Respect has been inspiring students and families through humor and a unique approach to healthier dating and communication. As an award-winning author and founder of The Center for Respect, Mike Domritz works closely with students, parents, and educators across the country discussing healthy approaches to respectful relationships. In fact, you may have seen Mr. Domritz featured as an expert on Dateline NBC’s My Kid Would Never Do That series. In bringing him to our campus, we hope that attendees will gain useful skills and strategies for making safer choices around relationships, dating, substances, and consent.
Through Mike’s SAFER Choices: A Candid Look at Dating, Communication, Respect, & Sexual Assault presentation, students will learn the power of “asking first” in consent; how to intervene when alcohol and sexual pressure are combined together at friends’ houses; and how to support survivors of sexual assault. His clean and simple presentation has been reported to have a dramatic impact on adolescents and young adults.
We are very excited about Mr. Domritz’s visit and anticipate his message will be a hugely beneficial experience for our students. We invite you to attend the event on Tuesday, September 26 during the session in which your child will participate, as each session is adjusted for age-appropriateness.
