We had the great honor of remembering long time coach and counselor, Bill Fox, at our football game on Friday night.
Coach Fox started by assisting with football and track, and eventually became the head girls track coach and football coach. He coached Head girls track for 4 seasons and earned 3 Conference and District titles and 2 State Titles. He took over as head football coach in the fall season of 1989 where he remained until 1991.When he took back over in 1993, he stayed the head coach until the fall of 2002. In his 12 years as head football coach, he won 10 District Titles, 9 Conference Titles, made it to 7 State Semi-Finals, 3 State Finals and achieved a perfect season in 2000 going undefeated 14-0 and bringing home the boys first State Championship. His overall record, according to past yearbooks, was 121 wins - 23 losses in 12 seasons.
Coach Fox was a decorated coach for his team’s championships, but what he brought to this community was a tremendous positive energy and belief that with hard work, treating others how you want to be treated, and serving others, we all benefit and succeed. Everyone has their own personal relationship and special moments with Coach Fox, but everyone would agree that his POSITIVE MENTAL ATTITUDE was infectious. Thank you to Coach Fox and the Fox Family for all their sacrifice and energy spent to better the school and community.
Coach Fox's family was able to attend the football game and be present for the hanging of the portrait of Coach Fox. We are forever grateful for the impact that Coach Fox made on our school and community.
